In the name of University of Elbasan “Aleksandër Xhuvani”, and on my personal behalf, it is a pleasure to invite you to participate at the annual conference on “Sports sciences, education and their role in sustainable development and social welfare”, organized by Faculty of Education Sciences, Department of Physical Education and Sports in cooperation with the Albanian Sports Science Association (ASSA).
It is important to emphasise the fact that sport is a major contributor to economic and social development. Its role is well recognized by Governments, which forms part of in the Political Declaration of the 2030 Agenda and reflects on “the contribution sports make to the empowerment of women and of young people, individuals and communities, as well as to health, education and social inclusion objectives.”
This conference aims to bring together academics, researchers and specialists, to share their studies and findings, in this very difficult time we all are facing.

In the capacity of the Dean of the Faculty of Education Sciences let me welcome and invite you to be part of the International Conference that the University of Elbasan “Aleksandër Xhuvani ”, Faculty of Education Sciences, Department of Physical Education and Sports organizes in cooperation with the Albanian Association of Sports Sciences (AASS) on“ Sports sciences, education and their role in sustainable development and social welfare ”.
Dear professors, colleagues who have given their contribution in the field of physical education and sports and health education, you are invited to promote your research work by sharing your experience and findings. This conference comes at a difficult time that the whole world is facing, where sport has been among the most affected. This makes it necessary for the sports community to contribute to overcoming challenges with new ideas and innovative findings.
Addressing current issues, discussing best practices in a broader international context will be a productive window for all young and experienced reseachers.
